Richelle Mead Talks ‘Bloodlines,’ Zoey Deutch & More in ‘Vampire Academy’ Q&A 

And how would you describe the chemistry between him and Zoey?
Richelle: It’s great, both on- and off-screen. Off-screen they’re like siblings; they’re so close, they have such a great rapport with each other. They kind of joke and banter with each other. They’re very close and that’s just great to see. You can tell that they love what they’re doing. I saw them filming some scenes together just over and over and over, taking these hits and they were just into it, and they were having a good time with each other, and that was great. On-screen, when they’re actually in character, they’ve got the romantic chemistry that everyone’s looking for. I’ve only seen snippets of the film, I haven’t seen the whole thing, not even close, but the scenes I did see, they definitely have that Rose-and-Dimitri action going on, so people are gonna be pretty thrilled with that.

I saw that Zoey’s favorite scene from the film is one where Dimitri and Rose walk back from training. What are excited to see translated to the big screen?
Richelle: I’m just really looking forward to the ending sequence because that’s when the action starts rolling out. There’s action throughout the film, of course, and throughout the book, and the film follows the book very closely. So much of that is build-up and there’s clues and all this stuff, and you know something’s going on, but you’re not sure what it is. And then there’s this one point there near the end where just everything explodes. It’s just like, bam, bam, bam to the end. So I’m just really looking forward to seeing that unfold on the screen. That was the most fun for me to write in the book, that action ending sequence, so it’s going to be pretty cool to see it come to life

American TV stars headed to Israel

‪‪Delegation of 13 actors, including stars of 'Dexter' and 'Vampire Academy,' to visit country in late September as part of PR project aimed at bolstering Israel's image in US

Attention all fans: A delegation of American actors – including the stars of popular television series "Dexter," "Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters," "Sullivan & Son," "Hell on Wheels" and "Caroline in the City" – will arrive in Israel in late September for a one-week visit.

The stars will be hosted by the Foreign Ministry, the Israeli Consulate in New York and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.

The stars are arriving in Israel as part of a PR project called "America's Voices in Israel," which aims to bolster Israel's image in the United States by encouraging visits of American celebrities and making them friends of Israel.

These actors have thousands of fans in the US, and most of them tweet their experiences to hundreds of thousands of fans.

The delegation members include three of the stars of "Dexter," considered one of the most watched series in the US with seven million viewers in the seventh season: David Zayas (Sgt. Angel Batista), Lauren Vélez (Lt. Maria LaGuerta, the captain of Miami Metro's homicide department) and C.S. Lee (Vince Masuka, the head forensics specialist for Miami Metro PD).

Also arriving will be 18-year-old Zoey Deutch, who stars in "Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters" and has 53,000 followers on Twitter; "Hell on Wheels" star Anson Mount; actor Jason Butler Harner ("Kill the Irishman," "CSI," "Alcatraz," "The Green"); actor Malik Yoba ("The Twilight Zone," "Girlfriends," "Raines," "Thief"); actress Vivian Bang ("Sullivan & Son," "Kath & Kim," "Better Off Ted," "House M.D.," "Sex and the City"); and Lea Thompson (the films "Jaws 3-D," "Back to the Future," "Dennis the Menace" and "SpaceCamp" and TV series "Caroline in the City").

The stars will be joined by film and television director Howard Deutch. The delegation members will tour the country, visit IDF bases and receive briefings.

Zoey's Birthday Project!

As many of you know, Zoey Deutch's birthday is just around the corner! We over at Dhampir Life thought we should let our favorite girl, Zoey, know how grateful and honored we are to have her be a part of our Vampire Academy family. So, we've teamed up with @zoeydeutchuk, @ReadingGirl21 and @TheZoeyDArmy to bring you guys a challenge to make this birthday a memorable one for Zoey! 

This birthday project has been divided into three parts:

Project #3 : Online Birthday Card

Wish Zoey a Happy Birthday! Just send her a quick Birthday message or sign your name on this online card HERE

Project #2: Scrapbook Thank you to everyone who participated!

When coming up with ideas for Zoey's birthday project we decided that we wanted to be able to make it as personal as we could (when there's tons of fans all over the world). A scrapbook seemed like the perfect way to physically showcase people's appreciation and support. 

Details: 

• Letters - Can be handwritten & scanned OR typed. (One page max)
• Fan Art/Drawings - Send us YOUR Fan art or drawings that you'd like us to include.
• Pictures - Take a picture of yourself in which you're holding up a Happy Birthday sign/message. Get creative! 
• Duration: October 14th - Oct 31 at 12:00pm PST 
• Email your submissions to DhampirLife@Gmail.com

Note:  If you'd like your Name, country, twitter username etc. to be shown make sure to include it in your submissions. 

*If you already submitted a picture for Part 1 of this project it will be included in the scrapbook as well (unless you'd rather it not be, in which case, let us know!)
