Viewer Reactions To An Early Screening of Vampire Academy

Some lucky viewers have been getting the chance to see a rough cut screening of Vampire Academy. The movie is still not complete but they are doing audience test screenings to get people's opinions in order help better improve the final result. • just went to a movie screening.for a new movie coming out called Vampire Academy. WOW it was really good
• I loved the whole thing its hard to pick just one part. MUCH better than expected. loved all the characters!!!

• Hmm I loved the fights against the Strigoi, but not the look of the creatures themselves. I have a feeling they are going to change the look of them. Some of the special effects are going to be fixed for the final movie.
• I definitely think the Vampire Academy movie is one of the best book adaptations that I've seen!

• The lust charm scene was one of my favorites. It was still the scene we all love, but they twisted it to make it kind of funny too (duh Mean Girls and Heathers). It was obvious that it was a charm controlling them so their actions were exaggerated. It was perfect. 
• Danila was great as Dimitri. I think he did very well. 
• They explained what it is and showed how Lissa used it. Especially with the shadowkissed explanation. It was good. re: Spirit
• I think that all the fans are going to be really happy with it. The audience loved it. Laughing, and it was the whole theater, throughout the entire movie. It really drew everyone in. Even this really tough older guy with his family enjoyed it. 
• I really do not remember much of the hospital scene. Only that Dimitri was there and Rose was shocked that her ankle was healed. Sorry!

• A fair amount yes, just for movie “drama” and of course lines that are in the book aren't in the movie etc. I don’t wanna spoil anything! re: new added scenes
• Wasn't a fan of Sami’s acting for Mia so the punch shut her up. And the sound effect was awesome lol.
• Blood whores was glazed over tbh but everyone got the drift.
• They make the mythology very clear. It's mostly done by Rose narrating it so you're "caught up" on everyone's role sand how the academy works. When it came to Moroi powers it was more of a quick overview, like hey, there's four elements Moroi can control then Spirit was more focused on because of Lissa & how she can do what she does with her connection to Rose....after some specific events lol. And once Lissa declares it as her magic you kinda get another quick overview on what Spirit is. :D
• Um Danila is sexy as fuck. I was NOT disappointed when he was cast. And on the big screen! YES. He’s even more attractive. OMG when his hair is in a ponytail (lady boner alert). And this might sound weird but when he’s just standing there. Literally just standing with his hands behind his back…I’m gonna stop now lol. Your friends are crazy and I got your back.

• From seeing the advanced screening, do you think that VA has the possibility to do well enough to be able to continue the series? -> 100% Yes. Everyone's feedback & even people who never heard of the book or read it loved it enough to wnat more. Crossing my fingers they decide to film a series. Encouraging everyone to go see it when its released this Feb!
• Does Dimitri say "Roza" in the movie / is it as amazing as we imagined? -> Yes. Yes he does/ as amazing!
• Loved, loved, loved Dom as Christian. He got the mysterious broody vamp persona down pact! Ugh, he was awesome. :)
• Lucy & Dom’s chemistry is so freaking cute. The development of the on screen relationship is so great, you automatically ship them from their first scene! 
• Nothing compares to Lucy & Zoey’s chemistry though! The emotion of behind their connection is awesome too. You can tell they’re true friends and not just acting :)

• I really liked it! I haven't read the books yet, but they've been on my "to read" list for a few years now.
• I really loved Rose and Dimitri's chemistry. Just all around an interesting take on vampire lore.

• Saw Vampire Academy. It was okay, it'd compare it to TMI in terms of quality. Seems like fans would like it, though.

• I'll give it a solid 7/10. The lack of CGI kind of distracted me, so maybe when that's done it'll go a bit higher.
• The ending of the movie was pretty cool.

• Just got back from a free pre-screening of Vampire Academy. For only going because it was free, it was actually pretty good!
• Don't wanna give anything away (I haven't read the books) - but Zoe Deutch was a stand-out as Rose. Best humor came from her.
• Never read the books but it was a lot better than I thought for a teen Vampire flick!

• I was at the early screening last night and the session afterwards to give feedback. I have read the entire series and I felt the movie did the books justice and was very entertaining for non book readers. My husband went with me and he had never heard of the series before and he really liked it. The filmmakers did a great job of explaining the different classes of vampires early on in the movie so non readers would not be confused. Obviously there will be comparisons to Twilight when discussing this movie, but the acting in this movie is far far superior to the Twilight movies. There are also many funny scenes. I don't know the names of the actors so I'll use character names. Rose and Lissa were both really great, as were Christian and Dimitri. I was not a fan of Mia or Natalie. Almost every single person hated the headmistress. She overacted and her character was written poorly. I am so curious to see if they make any changes to her part based on the feedback given. The action scenes were great and the love charm scene will not leave you disappointed.
