Excited? Me? Just a tiiiiiiiny bit.
The VA cast was such a pleasant surprise for me. We had been waiting for what seemed like ~forever for any movie production updates. literally YEARS. Then one day we suddenly were surprised with Zoey, Lucy and Danila. and let me tell you..... that was probably the best day of my life. The first one i searched was Zoey and she was my Rose before I even knew it. same with Lucy. Then....Danila happened. and i'm going to be completely honest. I had the lowest expectations. I was resigned to not love this casting no matter what. i mean DIMITRI? no one. & especially after all the heartbreak other castings have given me... i wasn't expecting much. Then.....
somehow, he WAS my Dimitri. how? i still don't know but god, i've never been this happy with a casting EVER. I don't even know if this is real right now bc i'm so not used to things being so good. Now we've gotten the rest of the cast and LANTA somehow, every single one of them is perfect too. this isn't normal at all for a book adaptation but it SHOULD BE. seriously, after this beautiful casting job, i trust the VA Team with my life. They've totally got this.
In less than a year we'll be able to see them embody our favorite characters on the big screen.
