Full Transcript of Richelle Mead's Q&A on Twitter

Have you seen the movie yet?
I have seen it! And I loved it. I was so blown away. So much more amazing than I even imagined.

I hope the new baby is doing okay?
He's great! But he's also why I'm not online much. I hope you're able to stay up to date with this and other VA accounts!

Hey Richelle! Why does Lissa wear a green dress instead of a pink one at the dance?? Just curious! :)
I think just b/c it looked better on Lucy. Pale colors can wash out pale people. It wasn't a detail that affected plot :)

What do you think of Sami as Mía?
Sami is awesome as Mia! She really knows how to play Mia's bitch side and vulnerable side. It's a tough job.

What is your favourite swap from book to film scene?
Tough one! I have so many faves. I love all the Lissa/Christian attic scenes, and the ending scene is also phenomenal.

Q: Had you heard of Vampire academy before you took the roll to be Lissa?
A:
Yes!

Q: How do you think the VA movie will affect the recent perception of vampires in the media?
A: I think VA will make people see vampires as much more fun :)

Q: Was it hard trying to get into the role of Lissa? Meaning, trying to portray her emotion/ mental pain when she was struggling to understand what was going on with her?
A:
I did a lot of preparation before we started filming so that I could get to that place. I trained with a physical theatre coach to feel how the depression sits in my body and to access it from there. As well as the power of spirit, i found that through physical exploration and discovering the different emotions and sensations that happen when I heal.
It was quite an intensive process because the pain Lissa goes through when she heals is hard to comprehend.

Q: Lucy how hard it was to play the darkest scenes with Lissa's depression?
A: Yes, that was really hard sometimes. There were days where I had long dark scenes and found it hard to shake the anxiety off at the end of the day. But I had zoey there to cheer me up!

Do you have any stories to share or funny and awkward moments on set that have happened so far?
I'm glad you said "stories" plural because there's many awkward and embarrassing stories to tell. The first one that comes to mind was a few weeks back when we were shooting the scene which Natalie turns Strigoi at the fight sequence. I was super into it and I was dramatically running backwards which, by the way, is really very difficult you should try it. And I just fell back straight onto my tailbone and all you see is these awkward legs in the air just flailing about. So that was pretty embarrassing especially because there all these amazing stunt people around me and I was in so much pain. So that was bad. Two days ago I was in the makeup trailer and a moth came in. A really large, large moth. This is the least badass story in the world by the way, but the moth came in and it was very, very large - there's a moth right there actually - and I got up very girly-like and my skirt just fell off completely and everyone saw. So that's me. Those are two fun ones for you.
